The Notre Dame des Victoires church is a small Roman Catholic church with a lot of history behind it.
It’s located in Vieux Quebec or “Old Quebec” in Place Royale. Construction began on Notre Dame des Victoires in 1687 and was completed in 1723 but then it was mostly destroyed in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759 by the British.
The church was restored in 1816 and finally listed as a historical monument in 1929.

In this picture, the Notre Dame des Victoires church (or in English “Our Lady of Victory”) glows at night from the illuminating lights and is a favorite place for photographers to grab a couple good shots.
I was actually fighting the rain as it kept sprinkling on and off and people walked by to admire the scene.
Quebec City is very romantic at night and if you’re out for a walk, Place Royale should be on your list.
