The moon. That great rock in the sky that attracts us with its beautiful beams of light that shine the way.
Seeing a moonrise is an event that can sometimes take you off guard since it looks so large when it first rises over the horizon. Through a telephoto lens the craters can easily be seen and remind us of the constant bombardment that space meteors and asteroids have on our lunar neighbor.
Much of the great enjoyment of getting photos of the moon comes not from the moon itself but when it’s positioned between palm trees, on the beach or ocean, or simply over a beautiful natural scene.
Various phases of the moon can make interesting pictures whether it’s full, crescent, or just a sliver with a large shadow.
