When Canon came out with this SLR digital, they upgraded the idea of what a digital SLR camera could do with the addition of video recording in 1080p resolution, not like anyone really used it for that though. Most notably was the extremely high resolution 21 megapixel sensor capturing 5616 x 3744 pixels for high resolution images.
In addition to the features is the ability to shoot 3.9 continuous frames per second with bursts of 78 JPEG or 13 raw images which was an upgrade from the previous camera. Other features that were upgraded were the higher capacity battery with 1800mAh capacity that transmits that information to the camera so you can tell how much battery power is left.
